Nathi Mthethwa replaces Sicelo Shiceka as minister of CGTA…”until further notice”
Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa has been appointed acting Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister “until further notice”, the ministry announced on 7 March 2011.
This was to allow Minister Sicelo Shiceka “time to attend to his recovery following a bout of illness”, it said in a statement.
“The department appeals to all, including the media, to allow the minister and his family the respect and space to attend to what is undoubtedly a personal matter.”
All ministry and department functions normally carried out by Shiceka would continue under Mthethwa’s interim leadership, with the full support of Deputy Minister Yunus Carrim.
Mthethwa’s acting responsibilities commenced on the February 24, the ministry said.
