31 years of service – (it is not for the fainthearted but the brave)

On 1 July 2024, the Regional Finance Manager of the Tshwane and Limpopo Regions, Mrs Corlia Beukes, celebrated 31 years of service at IMATU.

Corlia started her career in IMATU on 1 July 1993, as a Senior Accountant, and was soon promoted to the Regional Finance Manager of the Tshwane and Limpopo Regions.

The erstwhile Regional Manager, Mr Rudy De Bruyn commented as follows:

“Working with Corlia during my tenure as Regional Manager of the Tshwane and Limpopo Regions was a memorable one.  Her contributions, commitment and loyalty were unquestionable, and served as an inspiration to others. Her enthusiasm infectious and her genuine concern for staff and members was evident in everything she did”.

Mrs Sphiwe Shabangu, another staff member who has known Corlia since she started at IMATU, recalls how Corlia came to visit her after the birth of her baby boy Ntando, 17 years ago. Sphiwe and all staff agree that Corlia is always there during the ups and downs, the “good and not so good times”.

Ms Lynette Burns-Coetzee joined the Tshwane and Limpopo Regions as Regional Manager in 2021 and she credits Corlia for keeping her balanced. Lynette sincerely commends Corlia on her ability to remain calm, collected and co-operative over the few years working together, as well as to thank her in terms she understands – “financial terms”.

“You are a valuable asset to IMATU, you do not only balance our books but you also balance us.  The bottom line is:

“YOU ARE OUR INCOME, YOU ARE OUR INTEREST AND YOU ARE OUR INVESTMENT.”

Thank you for your dedication and congratulations on 31 years’ service with IMATU.
