2026 IMATU Bursary Scheme – Applications are open
For several years, IMATU has provided a bursary initiative for our members in collaboration with Discovery Health, as part of our ongoing commitment to the well-being of our members and their families. This Bursary Scheme will continue in 2026.
The Bursary Scheme’s aim is to provide financial assistance to IMATU members and the children of IMATU members, to facilitate the pursuit and the attainment of a tertiary qualification. This financial assistance must provide meaningful support and assistance to bursary recipients in paying for the direct and associated costs of obtaining a tertiary qualification.
BURSARY AMOUNTS
Bursary amounts will be allocated as follows:
(a) 20 bursaries at R 20 000 each.
(b) 50 bursaries at R 10 000 each.
A maximum of 70 bursaries will therefore be granted.
Bursary Scheme applications will be accepted from 12 January 2026.

Applications will close on 27 February 2026 at 16h00. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
